Dr. April Lee
Dr. April Lee began her education at North Georgia College studying Biology, continuing to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College. She achieved both academic and clinical honors while attending Palmer West Chiropractic College in San Jose, California where she graduated in 2004. She practiced in San Diego for four years before relocating to Niceville to begin Bluewater Chiropractic in 2008. She served the Northwest Florida community at Bluewater Chiropractic for 12 years. In February 2020, she relocated to the Washington D.C. area to join her husband, who at the time was a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician in the United States Marine Corps. Her move to D.C. was prompted by the expectation of her husband being stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
During the time Dr. Lee has been away from the office, she has served the chiropractic profession as the Education Director at KMC University, a Chiropractic documentation, coding, compliance, and reimbursement consulting company. She earned her Certified Professional Compliance Officer certification in 2021 and her Certified Professional Medical Auditor certification in 2022. She was invited to speak at numerous Chiropractic conferences in 2022 and 2023, to include two of the largest forums in the profession. She has travelled the country to consult and provide in-person training for doctors and their staff. She has coached hundreds of chiropractic offices and hosted numerous educational webinars for the chiropractic profession over the past three years.
Due to COVID, the expected move to Okinawa was cancelled, and Dr. Lee continued to reside in the D.C. area until her husband retired at the end of 2021. At that time, they moved home to Ft. Walton Beach. They are both thrilled to be home, and she is excited to begin serving the community again at Serenity Health Chiropractic!
Dr. Lee holds a special place in her heart for the importance of family chiropractic care. She works with families, seniors, athletes, weekend warriors of all ages, and believes that all individuals will have better health through regular chiropractic care. Dr. Lee offers a wide variety of adjusting techniques and personalized treatments based on each individual’s needs. The techniques she offers include Palmer Package, Diversified, Thompson, Cranial Sacral, Flexion/Distraction, Upper Cervical Specific, Tonal, Extremities, Muscle function testing and Activator methods. Dr. Lee is a certified Applied Kinesiologist and has completed the Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractic Certification program with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Lee is passionate about performing newborn checkups. The birth process can be traumatic to the mother’s pelvis as well as the newborn’s neck and spine. Every baby delivered via caesarean, vacuum, or forceps should be checked as soon as possible as they are more susceptible to spinal misalignment. She believes all children need to have regular spinal check-ups to encourage overall health and wellness and prevent possible back conditions such as scoliosis, abnormal spinal curvatures, or pain in the future.
In her free time, Dr. Lee enjoys reading, spending time on the water, and scuba diving!
